Jon Krauss came to the mountains as a young man to ski them. He spent a good portion of his early years at Lake Tahoe working for the ski resorts that surround it and later building ski lifts and avalanche control systems here and around the world.

A quirk of fate connected him with Tom Nored, a ski lift builder who turned to pier construction in the early 1980’s. When Tom passed away in 1994, Jon took over the business and expanded it.

Located in Kings Beach, on the North Shore, J.R. Krauss has a modern fabrication facility which allows a good deal of the construction process to be pre-fabricated, away from the lake.

J.R. Krauss, Ltd has “A” Classification contractor’s licenses in both California and Nevada.

J. R. Krauss, Ltd. does not provide the services necessary to navigate the permitting processes required by the various agencies controlling work on the lakes it operates on but it can provide references for consultants who are specialized in this type of work.
